A Moment of Silence: Remembering 18 of the Beloved Celebrities We Lost in 2023
A lot of good people were lost in 2023, so we decided to assemble a list of noteworthy names to remember one more time before the new year.
The golden age of rock-and-roll was tragically hit hard, headlined by the loss of its queen. Born in 1939 in Tennessee, the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" passed away at the age of 83 after a long illness. Tina Turner landed 18 songs on the Top 100 list, including her biggest hit "What's Love Got to Do With It?" which reached the top spot. There is a reason that when you Google Tina Turner, the search bar asks you if you really meant "simply the best."
Staying in the music world, Robbie Robertson, the lead guitarist for "The Band" also passed away this year at the age of 80, along with the country icon Jimmy Buffet. Hopefully heaven looks something like Margaritaville, and it's 5 o'clock all the time.
Every year it's inevitable that beloved public figures will pass away, but this year it really felt like we lost some big names in tragic ways. Matthew Perry and Angus Cloud come to mind. Here are 18 celebrities we will always remember.
